An engineer visits the site to review the floor plan, count outlet positions, map cable routes, confirm the rack location, check ceiling access and building access rules, identify internet provider options, and document any special requirements for CCTV, access control, meeting rooms, or server equipment. This is where the scope is confirmed — not assumed.
We produce an outlet schedule, cable route plan, rack elevation design, WiFi AP layout, and equipment list based on the survey findings. Equipment is ordered so delivery aligns with the site readiness date. Internet provider activation is initiated at this stage — early enough to avoid delays. The project plan is shared with the client before anything is built.
Cables are pulled, containment installed (tray, trunking, or conduit as required), outlets terminated, patch panels punched down, racks mounted, and all copper links labelled at both ends. For larger offices, fibre backbone between floors or to remote cabinets is installed at this stage. Core switch, access switches, firewall, router, and rack UPS are installed and configured. VLANs segment staff, guest, management, and IoT traffic. DHCP, DNS, firewall rules, VPN remote access, and QoS are set up. WiFi access points are placed for measured coverage — not aesthetic symmetry — and tested for signal strength, roaming, and band steering. The office network is verified as operational before workstations are deployed.
Server or NAS is racked, configured, and connected to the network with shares, backup policies, and monitoring in place. CCTV cameras and NVR are installed, aimed, and tested for coverage and remote access. Access control readers or biometric attendance units are connected and programmed. Where required, the firewall security policies, IPS rules, and content filtering are finalised at this stage.
Desktops or laptops are configured with the operating system, business software, printers, and user profiles. PABX or VoIP phones are registered, extensions assigned, and call routing tested. Microsoft 365 or equivalent cloud services are provisioned — email profiles, shared drives, Teams, and security policies applied. Printers are added to the network and tested from each workstation.
Every network point, access point, printer, phone, camera, and application is tested end-to-end. Any outstanding issues are resolved before the handover meeting. The client receives a complete documentation pack: cable labels, outlet schedule, IP address plan, device inventory, rack layout, switch port map, WiFi record, firewall summary, admin credentials, and warranty documents. Internet provider lead times are a common source of office opening delays. Etisalat and du business line activations in new buildings can take two to four weeks. In some free zones, the building has a preferred provider and installation requires a separate permit. If the ISP process is not started at the design stage, the office may open before the internet connection is ready.
UAE offices also have specific requirements around CCTV positioning (SIRA guidelines apply in Dubai), access control for building entry, Etisalat or du PABX trunk registration, and VAT on hardware.
